Please head over to this website and read about the author's recent challenge to mothers out there. This topic has been in the forefront of my mind for quite awhile now. I feel like sometimes the ONLY WAY TO GET my kids to listen to me is to YELL. It seems like they just [literally] don't hear me otherwise.
I encourage you to meditate on this as well and see where God is guiding you in how you talk to your children.

By following the idea of gentleness in dealing with kids, you would certainly be modeling your behavior after your dear mother too. When I saw her in action with all the kids at home, she always exhibited gentleness and a strong sense of peace, even in the midst of turmoil and children behaving in a less than stellar manner. Your mom was a great example to me and I'm sure to many, many other moms!
